Tips to save money

Money-Saving-Tips-for-Moving

Hi there,

Today i thought of sharing some easy tips for saving money.

It would be great if someone finds it useful.

So here it goes:

  1. Make your meals

Yes, that’s my first point. If you could prepare your food at home, rather than dining out in restaurants or so, you will be saving yourself your money and health. Although, dining out can be done twice in a month (or may be weekly once) to enjoy yourself and consider it as a luxury.

2. Make a list before grocery shopping

Before you hit the supermarket, make it a point to create a list of things that you need to buy for the weekend and STICK to the list.

3. Do not go for shopping when you are hungry

If you are hungry while shopping, there are high chances that you take lot of snacks and junk from the supermarket aisle.

4. Check out the offers/deals

Do check out the latest offers/deals your nearest supermarket offers beforehand and amend your list accordingly.

5. Buy things in bulk.

I don’t mean the vegetables. I used to do shopping weekly. So I buy the vegetables, fruits, chicken, fish and all for the week. The rest of the non-perishable goods I buy in bulk. Most of the times they will be in good offer. And, think about it. We will have to pay the packaging price also if we are buying several small packets.

6. Unplug when not in use

Unplug your devices when not in use so that you can save in your electricity bill. Also, charge your phones or devices in a fixed period like a few hours before going to bed. Also, keep your wifi off on your phone and switch on it only when you have to use. It will help to give you break from technology.

7. Shop clothes during offers

There will be offers many times in a year. So try to do the shopping during that time. Can also buy off season. Like, sweaters in summer. That will save you some money.

8. Think of free entertainment

Entertainment and relaxation can also be done without spending a penny like going to a beach, going to a park, watching sunset, potluck parties at home, watching movies at home, etc. It doesn’t always be taking vacations or going for movies.

More money saving tips to come in next series.

Till then, try to practice these.

Hope this finds useful to you.

Take care.

A lazy day

It’s a lazy day today. I was going through a blog of mrsdubai and it came to me that ..Oh i also have a blog of my own…!!!  Its been quite some time I visited here…

Yes, there were a few things happening in my life. I had gone for a vacation to India for 2 weeks in February. It was a nice time without any tension or stress, and it was the festival time too. So we enjoyed the stay there. Met a lot of people. Got some medical check ups done. Everything is perfect and we sadly returned back to Dubai after two weeks.

I started going to office then. It was a hectic journey from home to office and the way back due to heavy traffic on roads. I had to go by car, then take a metro and then go by taxi to reach my office!! I used to have my breakfast in car. Sleepy mornings and all that… And after few months, I had to start WFH because I got preggy. 🙂

So now I am eagerly waiting to see my baby… wondering how he/she will be… ! 🙂

Malayalam Movie Review – Drishyam

Image

Drishyam was able to create a visual magic on screen that made the audience to watch the movie spellbound. The movie is about the life of a middle class family and the complicated situation they had to go through.

Mohanlal plays the role of George Kutty and needless to say, he has done the role with natural ease. His family comprises of his wife, Rani – played by Meena and his two daughters, Anju (Ansiba) and Anu (Esther). First half of the movie gives us an idea about this family and peoples’ liking towards George Kutty. Second half turns out to be a thrilling experience. I don’t want to break the suspense here. 😀

All the actors did a great job in the movie and there was no scene that felt odd. Hats off to the script writer and director, Jeethu Joseph.

It was heard that Jeethu Joseph first approached Mammootty with the script of Drishyam, but he asked for 2 years time as he did some family movies in a row. And he himself suggested to move on with project if he can’t wait till that. With the success of Memories and Drishyam, Jeethu Joseph is busy with new projects for next 3-4 years.

Final Verdict : A must watch movie

P.S. The scenes of the movie comes to my mind now and then even days after watching it !!

Few days I had a trip to Al Ain, and particularly to Jabel Hafeet. Its a mountain which is the highest place in UAE. On the way to the place gives us beautiful views… We reached there by evening and relaxed there for some time…Unlike other parts of UAE, its cool there. We saw the sun set and came back… I will post few pics more…
